PV Financial has partnered with Mill's Tavern & Grille to help our local medical professionals and first responders while they need our support the most. Each week, PV will donate $350.00 to help purchase food, and Mill's Tavern will re-employ their staff to cook and deliver the food to local frontline workers. With the teams at PV Financial and Mill's Tavern & Grille donating their time and resources to help others, we're asking our community to come together to join the initiative and help with donations of any size. All of the money will go to the assistance of providing meals to local facilities with healthcare workers or first responders. This is your chance to directly support a local business and our invaluable first responders during these uncertain times. Remember, every donation counts no matter the size! Click Here to Donate!

dakin donated 43,000 pounds of dog and cat food to Dakin Humane Society to augment its Pet Food Aid Program, which provides free dog and cat food for people struggling to feed their pets, whether from COVID-19-related issues or other financial hardships.

The food, which consists of Eukanuba dry dog food and a limited supply of Royal Canin canned Persian Loaf cat food, was sent by truck on 20 pallets to Dakin’s Springfield Adoption Center and was brought into the building by a forklift truck, which was generously loaned to Dakin.  The food will become available to the public beginning Friday, April 3. The amount of food people receive should feed their pet for about a month.

People wishing to pick up pet food must make an appointment online at

When they arrive at their appointed time at Dakin’s Springfield Adoption Center at 171 Union Street, the food will be delivered to their car by Dakin staff members, who will maintain the recommended social distancing space.

The food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and is available while supplies last.  The online reservation is especially important, as it allows Dakin staff to know what type of food is being requested so they can plan accordingly.
