Los Angeles residents woke up to an earthquake in the early morning hours. A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit, followed shortly after by one that measured 3.3. Naturally, everyone from Khloé Kardashian to Zach Braff took to Twitter to share their reactions…

Khloé @khloekardashian - Oh man!! Wow that felt much bigger than a 4.5 #earthquake. So scary! Sneakers and my flashlight by my bed

Kelly Clarkson @kellyclarkson- My children are in my arms and we are awake too early because of that earthquake but now they’re  discussing how their ninja skills would totally help in this time ------‍♀️ I’m just happy they’re more interested and curious about it and less scared. Hallelujah!

Marshmello @marshmellomusic - If that #earthquake is any clue of what’s next in 2020, I’m done.

Zach Braff @zachbraff - not now earthquakes.

Wells Adams @WellsAdams - What chapter of revelations are we in now? #earthquake

Patton Oswalt @pattonoswalt - Just realized my “earthquake kit” is a bag of Doritos and one snow boot.

JoJo. @iamjojo - My preparedness for an earthquake is the same as the US government for COVID-19. None.

“Glee” actress Naya Rivera has been laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. About 25 people – including her family members, close friends, and “Glee” cast members – were in attendance. Even though Naya was pulled out of the water five days after going missing, she apparently didn’t suffer long. According to her death certificate, she died within a matter of minutes, and there were no other significant conditions that contributed to her death. Also, Naya filmed an appearance as a judge on Netflix’s “Sugar Rush” right before the coronavirus shutdown. It’s believed to be her last TV appearance. When she died, Netflix was faced with a dilemma about what to do with footage of her. After consulting with her manager and family, they decided to release it as originally planned. The episode is dedicated to Naya, with an on-screen note honoring her before the opening credits, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Oprah Winfrey has been on every cover of every issue of “O, The Oprah Magazine” since it started 20 years ago. But she’s stepping aside to feature Breonna Taylor on the September issue, which will be focused on anti-racism and White privilege. According to Lucy Kaylin, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Oprah and her team wanted to use her platform to raise awareness about police brutality against Black Americans in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The special issue – which hits newsstands on August 11th – examines systematic racism and includes lists of anti-racist actions readers can take, such as which Black-owned businesses they can support, organizations they can donate to, petitions they can sign, articles they can read and more, the release states. There’s also a column, “Hard White Truths,” White readers share when they were aware of their White privilege and what they’re doing to dismantle the status quo. Also, Oprah has a new show on Apple TV Plus. The first of “The Oprah Conversation,” which is available now, features Emmanuel Acho, the host of “Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man,” according to USA Today.

The nominations for the MTV VMAs, which are supposed to happen August 30, are out, and Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga tied for the most nominations with nine each, thanks to their song Rain On Me. Billie Eilish and The Weeknd are close behind with six a piece, according to Just Jared. The VMAs added some categories for the current state of living, like Best Music Video from Home and Best Quarantine Performance. I wish I was joking.

Marriage on the horizon…

OK! Magazine says that Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky have plans to elope in Vegas. A source explained, “She’s finally found someone she can see herself spending the rest of her life with. They’ve been talking about marriage and decided what they both want is to elope. It’s totally Gaga’s style.” It’s said she will serenade Michael with a new song, and after the ceremony, they’ll have “a wild party and some gambling.” The source added, “Gaga wants to wear a hot pink dress, heels and a feather boa, and the rings are being designed as we speak by a Beverly Hills jeweler. It’ll be a fun, lively and memorable night.” True or false – we’ll have to wait and see…

“Flip or Flop” star Tarek El Moussa celebrated his one-year anniversary by proposing to his girlfriend, Heather Rae Young. He shared a photo of the two of them in formalwear with him slipping a ring on her finger. He wrote, “She said yes! #FlippingHerLastName.” This is his second marriage. He and his ex, Christina, share two children, Taylor and Brayden.

After more than six years together, Courteney Cox and musician Johnny McDaid are planning to get married soon. The two have been engaged since 2014 (with one break in between), but a source has said, “they realized they don’t want to waste any more time.” Rumor has it the wedding will be a barefoot ceremony on a Malibu beach towards the end of summer. The source said, “Courteney’s planning to wear a flowy dress and carry a bouquet of bright flowers,” with her daughter, Coco, 16, as maid of honor. “They’ll have a few friends for the ceremony – like Jen Aniston and Reese Witherspoon – and a small reception after. Everyone’s so excited they’re making things official.”

We’ve been telling you about claims about the behind-the-scenes drama on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and the new investigation into workplace misconduct over its reportedly “toxic” environment. The heads of the show have already apologized, but Ellen had been silent – ‘til now. She herself has officially apologized. In a note to the staff, Ellen says she always wanted “The Ellen Show” to be “a place of happiness,” a place where no one raises their voice, and everyone is treated with respect. But based on the stories her current and former staffers have been coming forward with, she sees that “something changed,” and for that, she’s sorry and “disappointed.” Ellen admits that as the show has grown, she hasn’t been able to “stay on top of everything” and she’s had to rely on others to do their jobs right, and she sees that “clearly some didn’t.” From now on, she’s pledged to be “committed to ensuring this does not happen again.”  In the meantime, Australian television producer Neil Breen talked about his experience with Ellen, saying her people demanded "total control" of his show, and everyone was instructed not to “talk…approach…or even look at her.” He says they also wanted the interview done at a location 443 miles away from where their studio was located, and his show had to make the travel at “their own expense.” Read more with Variety.

Not folklore, but truth… Taylor Swift’s team heard the message loud and clear from the woman who claimed Taylor jacked her logo. They responded, “Yesterday, we were made aware of a complaint that the specific use of the word ‘the’ before ‘folklore album’ on some of the folklore album merchandise was of concern. Absolutely no merchandise using ‘the’ before the words ‘folklore album’ has been manufactured or sent out. In good faith, we honored her request and immediately notified everyone who had ordered merchandise with the word ‘the’ preceding ‘folklore album’ that they will now receive their order with the design change.” Read more with Dlisted.

Kylie Jenner’s mom, Kris Jenner, is now a permanent part of Kylie’s household. Kylie posted an Instagram video, which you can see at AceShowbiz, showing that the Madam Tussaud wax figure had been moved from Kris' house to Kylie's. She said, "Guess who came to live with me now?" adding, "She's mine now. I don't wanna get any texts or phone calls from my sisters after this. She's mine." Kylie is keeping Kris in her bar & billiards room, so hopefully no middle of the night freak-outs for anyone.

Meghan Markle has been ordered to pay $88,000 in legal fees for Britain's Mail on Sunday publishers after losing an early round in her court fight, according to AceShowbiz. Meghan is suing the paper after the contents of a "private and confidential" handwritten note she sent to her father, Thomas Markle, in August 2018 were published. Meghan is seeking damages for alleged misuse of private information, copyright infringement, and breach of the Data Protection Act, but she lost the first round of the legal battle after the judge denied admission of parts of Meghan's case. Meghan is still fighting to keep secret the identities of five friends who took part in a 2018 interview with People magazine, defending Meghan regarding her correspondence with her dad. Lawyers for Britain’s Mail say those friends should be named because it was the People interview which led to the excerpts being made public. Meghan's lawyer argued, "These were confidential sources who gave the interviews on condition of anonymity.”

Now that Amber Heard is wrapping up her latest court battle with Johnny Depp, she can start getting ready for another one. AceShowbiz reports that Amber is in a legal battle with ex-lover Elon Musk over frozen embryos. In documents obtained by Britain's Daily Mirror, Jennifer Howell, a friend of Amber’s sister and mom, said Amber’s mom told her that Elon was suing Amber. She explained, "Paige told me.... she was in a legal battle with him over the rights to embryos they had created together. He wanted to destroy them, and Amber tried to keep them to have a baby." Also, Jennifer said Paige told her she was worried that he might have given her a “bugged” Tesla. Amber’s mom described Elon as “controlling” and that compared to him, Johnny was either an “angel” or a “saint.” Elon’s reps declined to comment.  The question remains – were the embryos created out of love or greed?

Sorry disappointed fans, but Tyler Cameron is relieved he’s not the next “Bachelor.” He’s praised his bff Matt James for getting the lead role, saying it’s “better” that way because it’s a “huge responsibility” – one that he’s confident Matt can handle. For instance, Tyler doesn’t think he has what it takes to “tell a girl that she’s not The One.” And that’s what makes the ladies love him even more.
